The Church has a mandate from the Lord Jesus which states in Matthew 28:19 “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.” In obedience to this mandate, Rev. Dr. Josef Howard, shared the vision the Lord had placed on his heart with his friends and family of starting a church where people will be won, trained and sent into the field to fulfill their life’s calling. After several discussions and a period of fasting and prayer, he received the “green light in his spirit” to begin the work. Rev. Othello Metzger and Min. Angela Taye were the two pastors who were acquainted with the vision and decided to join with Dr. Josef and Elder Lees Howard in starting the church.
After a period of fasting and prayer and conducting feasibility studies on church plant within the Maple Grove, MN area, the church was launched with the name, Bethel Citadel of Missions. On November 15, 2014, at 9:00am the first worship service was held at 9739 Revere Lane N. Maple Grove, MN. 55369. The speaker at the first worship service was Rev. Dr. Josef Howard. He preached on the Topic: “God’s plan for the church.” Since the inception of the church, there has been tremendous progress made and challenges faced. The church has experienced spiritual, financial, and numerical growth. It has a striving membership and focuses on training and missions.
